MEMBERSHIP MANIFESTO

What started out in summer 2021 as a sexy and mysterious string of monthly jazz shows + dance parties turned into a 2000 member jazz club hosting touring bands from all over the world. We have found a balance between a deep-listening music venue and an inclusive place to meet new friends and likeminded folks, all the while being located in the most random location imaginable - in The Catskills, in a tiny town, inside a private retreat, that’s not on Google Maps.

Our membership-based, non-public venue allows us to survive and book the the level of artists that normally play large venues in major cities throughout the world and would not come to our area otherwise.

While indie venues are struggling, we’ve found that generating revenue through memberships allows us to prioritize treating artists incredibly well while keeping ticket prices low, and de-coupling the need to operate as a public venue that passes along high ticketing fees to the fan.

We house almost all of our touring artists on site in our secluded, nature-bound mountain oasis, allowing musicians time to decompress from the road, and play their best show. Our space allows unprecedented intimacy and integration of the audience, allowing creative energy and audience energy to co-mingle.

While bring a private club evokes the image of velvet ropes, we accept all-comers who love live music, and with each passing year reach deeper into our rural community to welcome in local folks who have never had this kind of access to high-quality live music without driving to NYC.

We value safe, well-organized events that start on time, yet feel loose and improvisational. and fostering an environment where introducing yourself to the person next to you feels automatic.
